Three New Roads to Open for Public Use in Kalaeloa

Work is nearing completion on new roads surrounding the future Daniel Kahikina Akaka Department of Veterans Affairs Community-Based Outpatient Clinic.

The new Kamokila Boulevard Extension, new Boxer Roadand new lanes of Franklin D. Roosevelt Avenue are scheduled to open in May. Hunt Companies Hawaiʻi and its contractors are completing the final touches — from landscaping to street lights and signage.

Copahee Avenue, which runs along Barbers Point Elementary School, will remain closed through late July/early August while Hunt awaits pending guidance from the U.S. Department of Education. The school will continue to be accessible through Tulagi Avenue.
