Hunt Supports Kalaeloa Heritage Park’s Goal of a Permanent Water Source

For many years, Hunt has been – and continues to be – a dedicated sponsor of Kalaeloa Heritage Park, supporting the nonprofit park financially and with volunteerism through community work days.
In particular, Hunt has worked for many months to help the park find a consistent source of water.
Starting in 2021, Hunt arranged with its contractors to have thousands of gallons of water trucked in every month to the park, cared for by the nonprofit Kalaeloa Heritage and Legacy Foundation.
In more recent months, Tony Gaston, Senior Vice President of Hunt Companies Hawai‘i – with over three decades of local experience with construction, development and engineering – has provided professional guidance as the nonprofit finalizes plans to install a water source. Other members of the Hunt ‘ohana have assisted with
fundraising through sponsorships and donations.
“We fully support the park’s mission of preserving and protecting the cultural lands of Kalaeloa,” says Gaston. “I personally want to do what I can to help them secure an efficient permanent water source, which is critical for operations – both today and into the future.”
Kalaeloa Heritage and Legacy Foundation works to preserve and protect historical and Native Hawaiian sites in Kalaeloa, as well as to raise cultural awareness of West O‘ahu’s history.
